Integrated disaster risk management in southeast Asia - webinar

Organizer(s) Asian Development Bank (ADB)
Date

To mark the closing of ADB's Integrated Disaster Risk Management Fund, an interactive webinar will bring together experts from across Southeast Asia to look at the Fund’s contribution and to exchange views and ideas on advancing integrated disaster risk management.

If efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are to succeed, undertaking risk-informed development is not a choice, but a necessity. It is in this context that the Government of Canada and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) established the Integrated Disaster Risk Management (IDRM) Fund in February 2013. The Fund was created to advance proactive integrated disaster risk management measures on a regional basis within ADB’s developing member countries in Southeast Asia, specifically, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam.

ADB will convene a webinar to bring together governments and stakeholders to reflect on efforts towards advancing the integrated disaster risk management agenda in the region, and to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss areas for further engagement.
