This Summit will take place from the 6th to 22nd October, bringing together a wide variety of CSOs and other stakeholders to engage in a range of sessions looking at how development can be risk-informed and preventing hazards from becoming disasters. The sessions will focus on emerging topics such as eco-DRR, what COVID-19 means for risk-informed development, anticipatory fundraising, connecting donors to local CSOs, tools to reduce disaster risk in conflict settings, and many more themes related to the objectives of GNDR’s new strategy Local Leadership for Global Impact (2020-2025)

The Summit are is also offering several professional training opportunities related to areas that its members have identified as priorities for capacity building, including how to develop strong proposals and how to collaborate with parliamentarians to design policies more effectively. These sessions will be available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

In addition to the scheduled live sessions, virtual booths will allow participants to talk to each other and external experts, learning about specific tools and approaches including around six key risk drivers as outlined in the new GNDR strategy.
