AFACDeutsche Messe and Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC are delighted to bring you Australasia’s largest and most comprehensive emergency management conference and exhibition: AFAC19 powered by INTERSCHUTZ, returning to Melbourne for the first time in six years.

Our host agencies for 2019 are Country Fire Authority, Emergency Management Victoria, Forest Fire Management Victoria – Department of Environment Land Water and Planning, Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board, Parks Victoria, and Victoria State Emergency Service and we thank them for their support.

The audience that AFAC powered by INTERSCHUTZ generates is unmatched. The conference program and networking functions attract the senior-level decision makers from a broad range of emergency management agencies and our exhibition visitor marketing campaign brings in frontline operational staff. This creates the perfect eco-system for exhibitors – the decision makers and the end-users in one location. AFAC19 powered by INTERSCHUTZ will feature the largest exhibition in the event’s history with 12,000sqm of gross floorspace, a third bigger than the record breaking 2017 Sydney exhibition.

Key features include the:

  • AFAC19 Conference
  • Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC Research Forum
  • INTERSCHUTZ trade exhibition, featuring the Expo Stage & Demonstrations
  • AFAC19 Gala Dinner
  • Professional Development Program
  • Co-located with the IFE National Conference (Institution of Fire Engineers)
  • Australian Disaster Resilience Conference running as the sixth stream of AFAC19

The 2019 conference theme is "a shift to the new norm: riding the wave of change".
