Training on Disaster Risk Management

The Disaster Risk Management Knoweldge Centre (DRMKC) and the Cooperation Network of Risk, Safety and Security studies (CONRIS) share a common goal: to provide (future) disaster risk management professionals with international, state-of-the-art, evidence based knowledge about disaster risk management which should contribute to the quality of disaster risk management practices. In May 2017 the DRMKC published an extensive report "Science for Disaster Risk Management: Knowing better and losing less", knowing better losing less, in which reviews and scientific solutions and their practical use in various DRM areas are brought together.

This training should contribute to the dissemination of this knowledge to risk safety and security management students that work in or aim at working in the disaster risk management domain.

The training will be organized and developed by EPSI-UAB together with partner universities from the CONRIS network. The DRMKC will support the initiative through feedback on the outline of the training and through the arrangement of guest lecturers from the DRMKC network. The materials will be developed in such a way that they can be reused at other universities.
