SELA will hold the VII Meeting of Public-Private Alliances for Disaster Risk Reduction in Latin America and the Caribbean: building resilient infrastructures, jointly with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of Mexico (SRE), Cementos Mexicanos (CEMEX) and the Inter-American Conference on Social Security (CISS), in which good regional practices in investment and efficient construction will be analyzed, as well as the resilience of physical infrastructure (public and private buildings), particularly of hospital, health, educational and cultural services, in addition to the contribution of corporate social responsibility (RSE) as a resource to strengthen social resilience to disasters. Progress on the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE) Initiative will also be presented, as well as the signing of the agreement for the establishment of the National Chapter of ARISE-Mexico.
