The International Symposium on animals in disaster is divided into four themes:
- Theme 1 will focus on disasters' impact on animals and livelihood of vulnerable communities, and the existing gaps and challenges
- Theme 2 will highlight the opportunities and the scope that veterinary institutions could play in protecting animals from disasters
- Theme 3 will focus on the role on sharing experiences and best practices of veterinary institutions during disasters
- Theme 4 will identify and address the constraints existing within the academic and institutional framework
