ResiStand Conference: A New Platform for Boosting Disaster Resilience through Standardisation

Organizer(s) ResiStand
Venue
DIN e.V. - Beuth Verlag - Burggrafenstraße 6, 10787
Date

How can we improve the crisis management and disaster resilience capabilities of the European Union and individual Member States through standardisation? What are today's drivers and constraints to participating in standardisation activities? How can we bring together the main stakeholders– Standardisation Organisations, End-Users and Suppliers from industry and research – to facilitate innovation and enhance societal safety?

The ResiStand project, funded by the European Commission, has undertaken two years of intensive research to develop a new concept in response to these questions.

We welcome you to learn more about the New Platform for Boosting Disaster Resilience through Standardisation and be an essential part of it from day one. The launch of the platform will take place at the ResiStand Conference on 22nd March 2018 in Berlin, Germany.

The ResiStand Conference brings together policy makers, practitioners, standardisation bodies and stakeholders from industry and research in the field of crisis management and disaster resilience to discuss the key features of the future Platform. We invite you to join us for insightful discussions covering the proposed approaches for a pre-standardisation process as well as a stakeholder management process, together: The ResiStand Process. The dynamic ResiStand Roadmap for potential future standardisation activities, which has been developed throughout the project, will be another important stepping stone for the way ahead.

The Conference programme will provide you with the opportunity to exchange ideas and get inspired by the following activities:

  • Keynote speeches about the state of disaster resilience by representatives from the European Commission and Standardisation Committees
  • Presentations and panel discussions on the ResiStand Process and Roadmap with participants from all stakeholder communities
  • Networking sessions providing an opportunity to connect with a wide variety of stakeholders from across Europe to discuss future collaboration and business opportunities
