The international conference “From Disaster Management to Disaster Risk Reduction – Sendai Framework Implementation”, 26th – 27th February 2018 in Berlin provides an opportunity for public sector officials involved in the implementation of the Sendai Framework to share practical experiences and best practices.

Implementation of the Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction has already started. Parties involved are dealing with a multitude of questions and issues such as a better disaster risk understanding, the first risk and vulnerability assessments, disaster governance and preparedness strengthening as well as installing effective evaluation and monitoring systems. By 2019, the first Sendai Framework Progress Reports are due within the European Commission and the ISDR monitoring system. Until then, important milestones need to be achieved such as the collection and analysis of valuable data.

At this unique conference, experts from various national and international organisations well-advanced in the Sendai Framework implementation share their insight and practical knowledge on the current state of implementation. Profit from know-how and lessons-learned of other states and be optimally prepared for crisis situations in your country.
