The 2nd Resilience Forum will be held 28 February from 9:00 - 17:00 in Batumi, Georgia. This year's theme is Safe Environment, Strong Communities, Sustainable Businesses. The forum will bring together policy makers, civil society organisations and key stakeholders to present the new National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy elaborated by the State Security and Crisis Management Council in January 2017.  

The event will promote discussions on synergies with the work and plans of regional and municipal governments in Adjara as well as the opportunities for engagement of other sector partners. The focus will be on key priorities including local level risk management, gender, inclusiveness, and multi-sectoral involvement.

The forum aims to facilitate a regional, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder dialogue on challenges and best practices in policy and practice to support rural and urban resilience in Adjara. The initiative will encourage the transfer of knowledge on key global, national and regional strategies and frameworks. 

Target Audience

Policy makers, experts, NGOs, media, private sector, local governments and civil society representatives.
