7th ECO International Conference on Disaster Risk Management

The 7th ECO International Conference on Disaster Risk Management" will be held on 4-5 June 2014 in Qabala city, the Republic of Azerbaijan. Many participants including the relevant authorities of the Member States and heads/experts of international/regional organizations as well as organizations of the United Nations system related to disaster management are expected to participate in this event.

The conference will be focusing on the disaster in ECO Region and will display the efforts of the Member States in addressing natural disasters. Therefore it will be an good opportunity for the Member Countries to develop and expand their cooperation in the region.

The “6th ECO International Conference on Disaster Risk Management”, was held on 28-29 February 2012 in Kabul, Afghanistan. The agenda of the Conference in Kabul was focused on earthquake, drought and floods.

The Conference on Disaster Risk Management, held annually in the ECO Region, is one of the main ECO forums for discussing and developing policies and guidelines on disaster risk reduction in the ECO Region.
