UK national dialogue on HFA2

Organizer(s) Civil Contingencies Secretariat
Date

The UN Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) which aims to help countries build their resilience to disasters, is approaching the end of its ten-year timeframe (2005-2015). The UN has asked signatory countries to undertake a 'national dialogue' to consider what the post-2015 Framework (HFA2) should look like.

The UK will be holding its national dialogue on the Post 2015 Hyogo Framework for Action on October 24, 2013 in London, and on 4 December, 2013 in Manchester. For those unable to attend we also propose seeking written (email) responses.
The process will be run jointly by the Cabinet Office and DFID, with support from an informal advisory group comprising representatives from INGOs, academia, the scientific community and the private sector.

This is an opportunity for you to share your views on the current HFA and discuss the future framework.

Further details will be issued nearer to the events.
