Managing the regional risks of climate extremes and disasters: learning from the IPCC Special Report - event series

This series of outreach events aims to inform stakeholders about the possible impacts of and options for managing the risks of climate extremes and disasters by region, as assessed in the IPCC Special Report.

Each two-day event will cover a range of topics, including:

- Extremes, exposure and vulnerability in the context of the Special Report (SREX)
- Observations and projections of extremes
- Impacts, losses
- Risk management options
- Towards and sustainable and resilient future

The events are informed by the IPCC Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation, published in March 2012. CKDN has produced regional briefing guides for Latin America, Africa, and Asia to accompany the event series. These are available for download, below.
