Training of facilitators workshop on community based climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction programnme

This Workshop aims to:

- Develop a cadre of trainers who would deliver the Programme and Tools in communities across the region;
- Build capacity in community, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction and;
- Enable participants to undertake community training in the Module on Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) for communities with supporting Handbooks and other resource materials.

The Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) will facilitate this participatory, highly engaging and practical training Workshop which will also involve Field applications in the Matura Community in Trinidad.

The "Mainstreaming Climate Change into Disaster Risk Management for the Caribbean Region (CCDM)" project targets groups especially vulnerable to climate change and disaster utilizing gender-sensitive and participatory methods. A number of regional institutions, including the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRCS) and the Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC) are key partners in the implementation of this project.
