UNCCD Africa regional consultation meeting for CRIC9

The UNCCD Africa regional consultation meeting, held in preparation for the ninth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 9) and the meetings of its subsidiary bodies (CST 9 and CRC8), will take place in Tunis, Tunisia from 27 to 31 July 2009.

Regional meetings primarily aim at facilitating an informed decision-making process thus, the main items on the agendas of the forthcoming COP,CST and CRIC meetings as well as regional specific matters, including sub regional and regional action programs, will be addressed.

Science and Technology Correspondents (STC’s) are invited to attend the first segment of the meetings. Focal Points will initially join the meetings of the STC’s to discuss matters
of common interest, and then conclude consultations on CRIC- and COP-relating matters within the second segment of the meetings.
