International day for disaster reduction event: Managing forests and watersheds for natural hazards protection and livelihoods

To mark the International Day for Disaster Reduction on 13 October, the Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) would like to invite you to this lunch-hour roundtable discussion. The roundtable focuses on the role of forests and watersheds in reducing disaster risk, in terms of hazard regulation/mitigation and support to livelihoods. The roundtable will raise awareness of the environmental dimensions of disaster risk and the challenges faced by communities and countries in reducing vulnerabilities.
