A statement, signed by 66 CEOs of the world’s leading insurance companies, providing a set of guiding principles on the substantial role insurance can play in global efforts to tackle climate-related risks. It calls for insurance to be a strong complementary mechanism in a wider framework of adaptation and disaster risk reduction.
The statement contains key messages in relation to customers, policymakers, the United Nations and the insurance industry. It provides the foundations on which the direction of future climate-related initiatives by the Geneva Association will be based.
