Gender and Disaster Network (GDN)

The Gender and Disaster Network List (GDNet-L) is an initiative of the Gender and Disaster Network (www.gdnonline.org) and serves as an international forum for discussion, networking, and information exchange amongst researchers and practitioners working on gender relations in Disaster Risk Reduction. GDNet-L has more than 500 subscribers from 93 countries.

Gender and Disaster Resilience Alliance (GDRA)

The Gender and Disaster Resilience Alliance (GDRA) brings together practitioners, academics, advocates, and policy makers in the United States to promote gender-responsive disaster risk reduction and emergency management at home. It is a sister network to the global Gender and Disaster Network, and welcome like-minded individuals, organizations, and networks working on US concerns.

Gender working group on disaster risk reduction

UNISDR is bringing together a group of experts with accumulated experience and understanding of gender mainstreaming in disaster risk reduction, environmental resource management, climate change processes and governance. This working space will be used to peer review guidelines, tools and case studies that will increase understanding of gendersensitive disaster risk reduction. The outcome of the peer review will be a publication that will be distributed to ISDR System partners, national platforms and local authorities.


Women for climate justice is the global network of women and gender activists and experts from all world regions working for gender and climate justice.

Humanitarian Practice Network (HPN)

HPN is an independent forum for humanitarians to share and disseminate information, analysis and experience, We publish specialist resources for practitioners and policy makers alike and facilitate debate through regular events and the Online Exchange discussion forum.
