The Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is committed to the task of moving the disaster management emphasis in Bangladesh from a relief and response focus to a broader and more encompassing risk management framework.
This task can only be achieved through a comprehensive approach that unites the Government, nongovernmental organizations, the community, the private sector and global and regional partners in a joint strategy for effective risk reduction.
