Viet Nam: Disaster preparedness education saves lives

Viet Nam’s 3,200-kilometres long coastline is battered by more than 10 storms every year, causing massive floods across the country. Each year, more than 500 people lose their lives in floods. Children and youth are among the most vulnerable groups affected by natural disasters. Disaster education in schools provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to cope with disasters and protect themselves.
