Content Submission Policy

PreventionWeb Content Submission, Procedures and Disclaimer

Publication of content is a free service to the Disaster Risk Reduction community and requires login.

Content is selected for publication in accordance with the PreventionWeb mandate, which is to serve the information needs of the disaster risk reduction community, including the development of information exchange tools to facilitate collaboration. Content is accepted and published according to the following priority system:

1. Content directly pertaining to work in the area of disaster risk reduction submitted by ISDR System partners, including approximately 400 organizations comprised of non-governmental, international and UN organizations; governments with established reporting mechanisms on the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action; academic and research institutions; and private sector companies working to mainstream disaster risk reduction.

2. Content pertaining to the transition from response and recovery to mainstreaming disaster risk mitigation and prevention.

PreventionWeb reserves the right to refuse publication of information that does not meet the criteria mentioned above, or is deemed to discriminate on the basis of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Content accepted for publication will generally be posted on the PreventionWeb site within five working days of submission.

The opinions expressed in the sites linked from the PreventionWeb site are those of the authors and are not necessarily shared by the ISDR Secretariat or PreventionWeb editors. Inclusion of links to sites outside the United Nations does not imply endorsement of the contents of those sites.
