New Zealand: Insurers pay NZD 226m to support recovery from extreme weather

13 Dec 2018, ICNZ

Data from the Insurance Council of New Zealand reveals that insurers have spent more than NZD 225 million this year helping customers recover from extreme weather. 2018 is the second most expensive year for severe weather since 1969 with 33,064 claims. These impacts will only worsen if New Zealand does not adapt to climate change.
