South Korea: 2017 Pohang earthquake triggered by geothermal plant: experts

A research team has concluded that an experimental geothermal power plant triggered an earthquake that struck the South Korean city of Pohang in 2017. The event was an induced earthquake, as the construction and test operations of the plant, involving pumping high-pressure water in and out of an underground reservoir, spurred the seismicity.
