Sendai Framework

Integrated monitoring of the global targets of the Sendai Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals

In its report E/CN.3/2017/2, the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs) proposes the use of the Sendai Framework indicators recommended by the OIEWG, to measure specific global targets of SDGs 1 (End poverty in all its forms everywhere), 11 (Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable) and 13 (Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts), within the global indicator framework for the Goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This proposal will be considered for approval by the Statistical Commission at its forty-eighth session in March 2017. This will provide for simultaneous and coherent monitoring and reporting on the Sendai Framework and the SDGs.
