Evacuation systems and behavior
Image
Introduction
Evacuation route planning is a vital part of disaster risk management with the primary aim of minimising risk to life in the face of hazards. Timely evacuation can prevent casualties, especially in an era of extreme climatic hazards where risks may not be completely mitigated. Therefore, designing models that can help optimise plans, understanding why some people might not wish to leave, and improving overall egress routes can reduce evacuation time and prevent human losses.
