Towards HFA 2: emerging insights from the grassroots

This issue of Southasiadisasters.net includes articles related to disaster risk reduction and the post-2015 development agenda, including the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA). It includes the 'AIDMI Statement of Contributions to HFA During 2012-13', which describes detailed activities and shows how a range of how they are increasingly in sync with the principles of development envisioned in the UN's post-2015 development agenda.

This issue further includes: (i) the role of civil society in the post-2015 development agenda: lessons learned from India; (ii) the submission to the civil society dialogue with the high-level panel on the post-2015 development agenda; (iii) disaster risk reduction and the post-2015 development agenda: agenda for the Asia-Pacific; (iv) inputs to national workshop on post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction; (v) shaping the post-2015 development (HFA) agenda bottom-up; (vi) capacity building for HFA: taking stock and moving forward; (vii) developing concrete action on South-South cooperation in Asia Pacific Region; (viii) SEI invests in enhancing resilience to disasters and climate change in Asia; (ix) protecting school children from heat waves in Ahmedabad.
