Second annual report of the Climate Change Commission for Wales
In this report, the Commission reviews progress against the measures that were set out in the Climate Change Strategy (published in 2010) and builds on the recommendations proposed recently in the UK Committee on Climate Change second progress report to Welsh Government.
The Commission has identified priority themes for action, and these are to: 1. Focus on building resilience to manage the impact of a changing climate; 2. Scale-up efforts to reduce emissions from the built environment; 3. Address the transport challenge that is central to our approach to sustainable development; 4. Accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy; 5. Ensure leadership from the public sector to communicate and engage people on the challenges of climate change; 6. Engage civil society to achieve a significant impact in tackling climate change; 7. Manage our land use to reduce emission levels from this sector.
