Integrating disaster risk reduction in livelihoods programming in the Northwest of Nicaragua
This case study reports on a project intended to build disaster risk reduction capacity in communities and amongst the Centre for Promotion, Research and Rural and Social Development (CIPRES) staff. It provides: (i) a background to the livelihoods project; (ii) motives and methods to integrating disaster risk reduction; (iii) innovation and good practice related to the integration of disaster risk reduction measures; and (v) limitations and challenges for the future.
