Report on the technical workshop on integrating practices, tools and systems for climate risk assessment and management and disaster risk reduction strategies into national policies and programmes

This note includes a summary of the key discussion points, including the main challenges in integrating risk assessment and management and risk reduction strategies into national policies and programmes, as well as recommendations and issues for follow-up and further consideration. It provides a summary focused on practical tools and systems, good practice and successful examples, opportunities and barriers of the technical workshop. The workshop was held under the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, and took place in Havana, Cuba, from 10 to 12 March 2009.
