Making disaster risk reduction a policy priority, institutional strengthening (HFA 1)
Working with University of South Pacific to promote disaster risk management in individual communities thoughout Fiji and the Pacific.
Risk assessment and early warning systems (HFA 2)
Working with University of South Pacific in individual communities thoughout Fiji and the Pacific to assess risks and ways to improve early warning communication and effective response.
Education, information and public awareness (HFA 3)
Working with University of South Pacific to develop a Disaster Risk Management course for students in Fiji.
Reducing underlying risk factors (HFA 4)
Working with University of South Pacific and individual communities thoughout Fiji and the Pacific to identify underlying risk factors, and determine ways to reduce them.
Preparedness for effective response (HFA 5)
Working with University of South Pacific to promote more effective response to disaster in individual communities thoughout Fiji and the Pacific.
Other activities
Developing agent based models of community livelihoods to inform more effective deision making in response to increasing hazards due to climate change.
