The Welsh government will today be urged to step up efforts to tackle climate change and adapt to the effects of global warming, in a new report which warns major challenges remain for the nation if it is to meet its ambitious environmental goals, reports Business Green.
The first of the report's seven recommendations is to draw up advice for increased resilience to the impact of a changing climate. "Everybody needs to play a part in adapting Wales to climate change," said Peter Davies, chairman of the Climate Change Commission for Wales, according to the report.
"The government needs to continue investing in flood defences whilst the public, for example, need to make lifestyle changes, and organisations need to develop their own management plans based around vulnerabilities."
