Nigeria: Flooding - Expert calls for more preventive measures in managing disasters
Preventive actions are more effective than reacting to disasters and emergencies, told Mr Michale Ale, National President of the Association of Project Development Practitioners to the Nigerian emergency agencies, as reported by the Nigerian Tribune. He stated:
"If you look at the preventive side of disasters, you will realise that it is better, cheaper and economically viable for the nation to manage than reactive management."
In addition, the geologist encouraged more cooperatinon between experts and the government.
