Water scarcity and declining quality are likely to adversely impact on major companies within five years, making water conservation, water efficiency and effective water management an immediate challenge, writes Businesslive. Urging companies to act now, SA’s first Water Disclosure Report reveals that 85% of water-intensive users among the JSE Top 100 companies are exposed to water-related risk, with 70% believing that risks to their direct operations could occur within the next five years.

Data, and assessment of the impact on water from climate change is missing as well. This article cites the key findings of the report.
