What is being done and where to make hospitals, health facilities and systems, and health workers safe from disasters? Does your organization have a project or initiative? Do you know of other organizations or experts that are working on this issue?
UN/ISDR secretariat and WHO are now mapping existing projects and initiatives on making hospitals safe from disasters, as a part of the World Disaster Reduction Campaign 2008-2009. If you or your organization are involved in work to make hospitals, health facilities or health workers more disaster resilient, please complete our short questionnaire and return it to Ms Tze Ming Mok, at firstname.lastname@example.org by August 15 2008. See related information below.
Information received from this mapping exercise will be used as a resource for campaign advocacy – for example, raising the profile of this important issue through promoting your work. The information we receive will also be used as a data/contact resource for the eventual gathering of more in-depth good practices for publication. We will keep you updated on the use of this
information through the Health and Disaster Risk Reduction email list.
