Researchers to develop early warning hazard system for trains

'Keeping Trains on Track'

According to Tel Aviv University, Israeli researcher Prof. Lev V. Eppelbaum teams with Italy, France, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Romania to provide a reliable early warning system for railways that aims to prevent accidents caused by avalanches, earthquakes and even terrorists. The research is part of the European Project FP7, "Integrated System for Transport Infrastructures Surveillance and Monitoring by Electromagnetic Sensing".
