Sri Lanka: Workshop on DRR underlines need to reduce risk for development

Participating in the workshop on disaster risk reduction yesterday in Sri Lanka, Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe stated that the country's eleven Ministries needed to work together to help reduce risk in Sri Lanka and stressed the importance of incorporating proposals on disaster risk reduction in the implementation of national plans. He went on to point out that reducing the risk of disaster will have a direct impact on the economic growth of a country.
