As a part of the Scripps Disaster Department and the CA State MFH/HASU Project (Mobile Field Hospital/Hospital Admin Support Team), the Project Coordinator will play an active role in the implementation and facilitation of this state project that includes: project administrative coordination with event planning and implementation, financial maintenance of State Grant funding, office management functions that include: scheduling meetings, telephone interactions, analysis and maintenance of systems and equipment, correspondence and reports using software applications, special projects including research, mailing lists, and maintenance of departmental files and records.
The position requires a great amount of coordination with other Scripps entities, personnel, departments, legal agencies, and other outside agencies The Coordinator is accountable to the System- wide Disaster Preparedness Director for project activities as well as for effective and timely implementation of program objectives. Coordinator adheres to project reporting requirements by maintaining paper and/or electronic tracking systems. Coordinator will work closely with the local and State government, faculty, community partners, community members, government agencies, and others as appropriate to comply with grant-funding objectives. Adhoc responsibilities include instructing Decontamination Course and Disaster Awareness Course to community. Some travel required.
Basic Qualifications (required): oOne or more years of relevant emergency preparedness training experience in an agency providing services to communities and health professionals. Ability to maintain records of program activities and to monitor and report related financial data required. Ability to develop project plans and timeliness.
Bachelor's Degree in Disaster Management, Education, or Business related field preferred.
Minimum Qualifications (required): 1-2 years community-based work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Training and education of health professionals preferred.
FEMA 100,200,700,800 certifications preferred
Basic typing and computer skills preferred
Experience/Specialized Skills: Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups. Demonstrate oral and written communication skills by clear and accurate correspondence, including spelling and grammar usage. Demonstrate experience and ability to work independently and as a team member.
