The British Red Cross (BRC) helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. The technical and advisory department provides technical and advisory specialist services to the regional teams of the British Red Cross programmes and partnerships department (including staff located abroad and externally to other Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, the IFRC and the ICRC.

Job purpose:

We are looking for a food security and livelihood adviser who will primarily ensure the provision of high quality technical and advisory services in areas such as cash transfer programmes, household economic security and market assessment to both response and resilience programmes supporting vulnerable communities in Africa, the Middle East and Asia through the actions of our Red Cross movement partners.

You will help build the capacity of partner national societies within the relevant technical areas, contributing to their organisational development as leading national humanitarian organisations. You will work collaboratively with heads of region and country managers to support the development of integrated approaches, working alongside and within the regional programmes and partnerships.
