Solomon Islands: Government assesses country's food security

The Solomon Islands Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has launched a survey that is aimed to assist in designing a programme that addresses the contemporary needs of women, reports Solomon Times. The multi-sectoral approach to food security will focus on crisis prevention and management, including disaster risk reduction strategies. Food availability, access to food and nutritional value of food, particluarly for pregnant and lactating women and children under five will be assessed too.
