The 'Prepared Mississippi' emergency management conference
Background
The “Prepared Mississippi” Emergency Management Conference will focus on all-hazard training and education topics related to preparedness, response and recovery from natural and man-made disasters. This educational and training conference will feature speakers from emergency management, federal response and recovery agencies, state offices and agencies, private industry, law enforcement, and elected officials. The conference also offers insights from participants into real life situations confronted by local emergency mangers in a “lessons learned” session.
The governor, congressional representatives, and senators have been invited to participate in the education sessions, if schedules allow. In additional to various professional development sessions on preparedness, risk management, mass care and evacuation, there will also be an exhibit hall for vendor displays and demonstrations located adjacent to the classrooms.
