ASEAN training course on urban disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation

The training organised by the ASEAN-UNISDR Technical Cooperation in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat will be held in Manila, Philippines from 21-23 March 2012. The course will be opened with the keynote from Helena Molin Valdes, Director a.i., UNISDR.

The Inspirational message will be given by Hon. Al Arquillano, Vice- mayor of San Francisco, Municipality, Camotes Island, Cebu, 2011 UNISDR Sasakawa Awardee for DRR.

The training will be divided in 3 modules:

MODULE 1: Fundamentals of Urban Risks
MODULE 2: DRR and CCA in the Urban Setting
MODULE 3: Disaster and Climate Proofing the Urban Environment

At the end of the first day, the Mayor’s Handbook on Making Cities Resilient will be launched.
