Disaster risk reduction, mitigation and response: Prime need of Nepal

In order to analyse the need to give national priority to disaster preparedness and response capacity, Ratindra Khatri deals with Nepal's vulnerabilities in his review. The vulnerabilities identified are the very high risk of Kathmandu valley to seismic hazard, in addition to the geographical deficiency, unmanaged urbanization, unplanned settlements and weak structural buildings.
