Disaster risk reduction should be top priority for all governments - UN

Raed Omari reports for the Jordan Times on the third session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction which took place this week in Geneva, Switzerland highlighting the country's participation and the launch of the second edition of the Global Assessment Report.

“Jordan is among the few regional countries to have a systematic data on disaster losses and, along with Syria and Yemen, to hand over reports to the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) on the mechanism, plans and strategies they set up to reduce disaster risks,” said Andrew Maskrey, Coordinator of the Global Assessment Report launched at the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction this week, in an interview with the Jordan Times.
