Meeting of European national platforms and HFA focal points for disaster risk reduction

The Council of Europe (European and Mediterranean Major Hazards Agreement (EUR-OPA) and the UN/ISDR secretariat in collaboration with a European Network of National Platforms and HFA Focal Points (currently chaired by DKKV) invited representatives of European National Platforms and HFA focal points for disaster risk reduction to the second meeting of its kind in order to discuss and share information on the progress in the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (reporting guidelines and presentation of work plan for monitoring and progress review and its publications); build on the opportunities of collaboration between national platforms in Europe (European Network of National Platforms; twinning between national platforms; exchanges and collaboration with specialized institutes); and agree on common issues to the take forward at the European level (review on main challenges in Europe and ways forward).
