WANA Regional consultation on the development of the CGIAR Mega Program 5 (MP5) on water, land and ecosystems

The one-day meeting will be held at ICARDA headquarters in Aleppo on the 8th of August 2010. The meeting will have participation from national and international research leaders, representatives of NGOs, private sector, donors and farmers organizations in addition to scientists form the CGIAR and ICARDA.

The development of Mega Programs, as a platform for the CGIAR research portfolio, has resulted from the process of the CGIAR Change Management which will be implemented starting in 2011. A draft of the MP5 is in the process of development by partners of the CGIAR centers. The meeting will discuss the draft document and reflect the WANA strategic issues and concerns on water and land resources management to be included in future CGIAR research.
