Oxfam is seeking a Climate Change Adaptation Coordinator to lead and provide technical support for a consortium of four INGOs in Timor-Leste. Oxfam needs a person who will train and advise consortium program staff and their partners on climate change information, climate change adaptation programming, in-country advocacy, lobbying and other related issues. 

The successful candidate will facilitate a coordinated partner-led participatory action research process on community level climate change adaptation, including coordinating a common approach, collating field data and building on linkages with academic institutions. 

To be successful in this role, the candidate must demonstrate: 
- Minimum three years proven experience in designing and leading high quality programs in the field of climate change adaptation, rural livelihoods disaster risk reduction or environmental management (or a related field), including training and technical implementation
- Comprehensive understanding of climate change issues and its impact on communities, preferably within South East Asia
- Experience in utilizing participatory action research methodologies
- Experience in integrating social components into community livelihoods programming, such as community maintenance of project activities and participatory monitoring and evaluation methodologies
- Experience in integrating gender equity across all aspects of a program
- Proven management and leadership experience in a complex, multi-cultural environment, leading diverse teams and stakeholders (internal and external)
- Proven mentoring, coaching, training and facilitation skills and a strong commitment to developing skills of national staff colleagues
- Relevant degree and technical competence in climate change adaptation, rural livelihoods, disaster risk reduction or environmental management (or a related field)
- Fluent written and spoken English essential. Knowledge of Tetun or Bahasa Indonesia is highly preferable.
