Conference on International Day for Disaster Reduction 2017 - Iran

The Conference on International Day for Disaster Reduction 2017 is going to be held on 17 October 2017 at the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The meeting will be held from 14:00 - 17:00 at Alghadeer hall. The theme of the conference is reducing the number of affected people with an emphasis on safe home and protection from displacement.

The meeting, coordinated by Mr. Bakhtiari, will discuss the issue of DRR from different aspects.

Speakers

• H.E. Mr. Najjar, the Head of Iranian National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO) and Deputy Minister will speak about the activities of the organisation regarding DRR.
• Dr. Fatemi Aghda, Ex-Deputy Minister and  Head of BHRC and member of the Kharazmi University will talk about the scientific aspects of DRR.
• Dr. Seyed Mohammad Sadati Nejad, Ex-UNISDR Special Coordinator based in Tehran will talk about the international developments on DRR.
• The Head of City Bank will also talk about the Public-private partnership in DRR area.

Finally a film which is going to be displayed during Yazd Festival on DRR will be displayed.
