International Day for Disaster Reduction 2017 - Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark
The Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark will be participating in the International Day for Disaster Reduction 2017, by providing high school students as well as search and rescue personal with specialized training on avalanche awareness, how to prepare for the backcountry, and education on emergency preparedness.
Partnering with Avalanche Canada and Summit Avalanche Consulting, we will offer this course that will allow participants the opportunity to use avalanche transceivers, probes, and shovels for training and use techniques to further prevent incidents involving our mountainous backcountry.
Please contact program coordinator Jenna McQueen to register at jenna.mcqueen@tumblerridgegeopark.ca
