On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October about 7,000 volunteers in Italy from 27 national organizations of civil protection, regional associations and local groups were mobilised on 650 squares of all the Italian regions with the campaign Io non rischio (I don't take risks), to raise awareness on the issue of self-protection and on the importance to know the risks people are exposed to.

The campaign focuses on the best practices of civil protection and has the volunteers of civil protection as protagonists: ordinary citizens, who usually operate in the territories where they will help carry out the initiative. This year, the 2016 edition of the campaign took on a special significance, in reference to the August 24 earthquake in central Italy. The campaign also coincides with the International Day for Disaster Reduction, celebrated on the 13th October every year.
