International Day for Disaster Reduction (Nigeria, 2016)
The Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) in collaboration with the Centre for Disaster Risk and Crisis Reduction (CDRCR) and the Department of Local Government and Development Studies in Nigeria, is organising a day Public Lecture to celebrate this year's International Day for Disaster Reduction with the theme #Live to Tell.
Topics
The event will bring together relevant stakeholders in Nigeria to review the causes and the management of disasters, which will feature in the lead paper. It will also look at the issues of relevant legislations on disaster risk reduction in the country. Efforts will also be made to propose workable recommendations into which all levels of government and non-state actors can tap, towards building the resilience of communities to disasters and sustainable development.
