Met Office PRECIS regional climate modelling (RCM) workshop

PRECIS workshops provide essential scientific and technical training in the use, analysis and application of PRECIS through a combination of theory, interactive learning and hands-on practical exercises. Topics cover various aspects of climate science and climate modelling to further enhance your knowledge and skills. Group sessions provide a great opportunity to discuss the use and application of PRECIS with fellow users and the expert regional climate modellers in the PRECIS team.

What's Included

Upon completion of the course, you will receive certification in PRECIS from the Met Office and will be able to download and use PRECIS at your home institution, with access to ongoing user support.

How to Register

If you or anyone you know may benefit from using PRECIS or the knowledge and skills gained through our training, then we invite you to register your interest for the upcoming UK workshop. We request that you send a short CV and a 2-3 paragraph concept note to precis@metoffice.gov.uk so that we can ensure that participants possess the scientific and technical base necessary to benefit from the workshop. Please indicate your motivation for participation, research interest, institution and intended use of the knowledge acquired from the workshop. The deadline to register is Friday 5 August 2016. Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available on this workshop and we cannot guarantee all applicants a place.

Event Fee

The workshop costs £750 per person, which includes all materials, lunches and a course dinner (all participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs).
